This film makes a distinctive contribution to the documentary series on this issue because of the progression it shows from torture to organ harvesting. One of the constant struggles we have to face in raising public awareness is incredulity that the killing of innocents for their organs on an industrial scale could be happening. One even sees this incredulity in the film.
One answer to how this abuse could be happening is the progressive brutalization of the perpetrators through torture, which the film graphically and eloquently depicts. Torture is not only a harm; it is also a threat. Torturers do not want to leave their threats empty by doing nothing to those who resist torture. But what will they do? For China, the film answers that question.
David Matas
I attended the film last evening and thought that it was done extremely well—the film covered the horrible reality of the persecution in a way that people could handle—there were features of the film that softened the gruesomeness such as the commentator, talking against a background of trees and flowers. The discussion afterwards with you and David Matas was very informative. The message that I got was that because the people of China are muted by the authoritarian government, they cannot speak up and because they cannot speak up we who live in a country where free speech is the norm, must speak on behalf of the victims of the Chinese state. That is our responsibility. I very much enjoyed the Falun Gung demonstration at the beginning which also helped create a peaceful atmosphere.
Congrats Cuz . Brilliant job on the documentary bringing the truth to the light. Everyone needs to see this to understand what is really going on around them. We need to stand together and do our part in helping this world be a better place. Even if it means just lending an ear and listening to those in need and then making the steps to help change and to encourage one another. I'm so very proud of you and I could see you at work in many ways at the premier following your calling. Bravo!!!⚘🥂😘
I just watched your new movie about the FG.
It's excellent. The gradual buildup which shows how people were incited, lied to, & threatened
until they had no choice but to cooperate with the government. How easy it is for a demagogue to turn to people's fears & portray the FG as dangerous , which brings them to believe they must protect themselves against the "bad guys". The persecuted are dehumanized.
Especially nowadays when everything can be seen on the internet & viewers get info that is not credible. They are brainwashed to to the point of hate, extreme, they turn to monsters who treat the victims like animals.
As we say חיים ומוות ביד הלשון
"Life & Death are controlled by the Tongue".
Chapeau to you once again for creating such an important documentary that could help save so many lives.
